Our Program

We believe children are competent capable learners. We join with the family of the child and together share this special part of the child’s life long journey of learning and exploring the wonderful world before them. We acknowledge the uniqueness and potential of each and every child and provide them with experiences that challenge and excite all areas of their development.

We enhance each child’s strengths, competencies and self-esteem by providing a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone. Together with the family and wider community we build on the child’s own experiences, knowledge, skills, attitudes, needs, interests and views of the world. Children will have the opportunity to create and act on their own ideas, to develop knowledge and skills in areas that interest them and make an increasing number of their own decisions and judgments.

This is achieved through a play based emergent curriculum in which our role is the facilitator of learning. We need to form a respectful and responsive engagement with each child and their family that allows a trustful relationship which respects the child’s cultural histories and shares information of the child’s skills, abilities, culture and unique interests.
